Purpose

The Technical Project Manager will provide project management functions including technical leadership, quality assurance, and decision-oriented recommendations. .

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and supporting Computer Network Room(s) operations including system backups, environmental monitoring, connectivity, UPS, communications equipment, racks, hubs, routers, switches and all other equipment, software and hardware located within the Network Room.
  • Maintain iventory for hardware and software.
  • Provide and maintain the infrastructure of Network environments supported to include Development, Test, Staging, and Production.
  • Analyze and assess equipment and performance degradation, including determination of hardware, software, networking, and/or technical changes to meet operating requirements.
  • Provide support services to maintain and ensure backup and restore capabilities on software applications and databases on diverse computer platforms, such as networks and client-server environments. This must include the archiving of critical data sets to media, such as tape, optical disc and/or disk cartridges.
  • Maintain documentation on how software/hardware is installed as well as document standard operating procedures and backup procedures. Maintain updates as changes occur within operating network environment.
  • Assist with directing, and evaluating hardware, firmware, peripherals, software packages for potential use by client, and provide recommendations for their integration into the environment. 

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math or Science is required.
  • 10 years of relevant experience required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent project or program management certification is required.
